Welcome to Holy Spirit Primary

30/06/2008
Whether you are joining our school for the first time or are enrolling another child, we would like to welcome you to our school community.

Our school was established some twenty plus years ago with the provision by the CEO of four classrooms, one toilet block and a staff and administrative area. Sr Patricia Bolster rsm, one of the pastoral nuns, was appointed as the first Principal.

With a name like Holy Spirit there couldn’t be much doubt about the school’s Christian identity. At the time of the establishment of our school the parishioners’ hopes and aspirations were towards openness to the Spirit; an openness, it is hoped, that can be perceived in our school today. Central to our mission as a Catholic school is the provision of a dynamic faith education program centred on the diocesan program 'Sharing Our Story'.

Welcome

Our school continues to be very much a part of the parish with the constant support and participation of the Priests, Fr Brian Fitzpatrick and Fr Jun in the life of the school and the school’s continued involvement in parish based sacramental programs and Sunday liturgy.

We recognise that as parents, you are the first and foremost educators of your children in faith and in life. As a school we support and respond to your aspirations and welcome your involvement in many aspects of the school. We invite you to participate in parent evenings, as a parent helper for reading or craft, in the work of the School Committee and its subcommittees (fundraising, etc.). We welcome constant contact with your child’s class teacher through parent/teacher interviews, class visits and other opportunities.

As we respond to the needs of our students in a rapidly changing world, we are mindful of the need to cater for all children within our care to the level that resources enable us to do so. To this end we are committed to the provision of quality education in all areas of  a 21st century curriculum. We provide high quality programs for children with special learning needs and with language difficulties. We have highly focussed literacy programs as we endeavour to cater for the diverse learning needs and styles of all children. We continue to strive towards improvement using the tools of the 21st century. With the support of our parents, we are well equipped with Information Technology resources so that our children can use these tools to enhance their learning in this ever-changing world environment.

Your child is so very special. Let’s work in a mutually supportive partnership so that all of the possibilities of this wonderful creation can be nurtured.

At Holy Spirit, we seek to live our lives like Jesus, work and love as a family, learn and challenge each other so that… Together We Grow. (School Mission Statement)

Please contact us for more information about enrolling your child.
